About

Katelyn Edwards is a skilled Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Recreational Therapy from East Carolina University, which gives her a broad educational background to draw upon.

Katelyn is licensed as both a Registered Nurse and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and a Certified Medical Surgical RN.

Throughout her career, Katelyn has worked in various healthcare settings. She started at Vidant Medical Center, where she managed patients with a variety of long-term acute care needs before coming to Physicians East’s Urgent Care Center in February 2024. Katelyn has shown excellent leadership skills as Charge Nurse, Unit Council Chair, and Skin Team Representative. She has overseen teams, improved clinical outcomes, and ensured compliance with standards.

Katelyn has extensive experience in managing chronic and acute illnesses, women’s health, and more.

Apart from her professional life, Katelyn is a passionate supporter of ECU Football, and she enjoys engaging in activities such as reading, kayaking, exercising, and baking. She adores her furry companion, spending a lot of time with her beloved dog during her free time.
