Dr. Amulya Balagani is an accomplished rheumatologist. Before joining Physicians East, she served as a rheumatology fellow at St. Louis University. She completed her residency in internal medicine at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and was a post-doctoral research fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Balagani earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences.
Dr. Balagani is passionate about exceptional clinical care, teaching, and research. She has a strong publication record across various medical fields. Recently, she published reports on Adult Onset Periodic Fevers and Interstitial Lung Disease associated with Dermatomyositis. Her contributions have appeared in prominent journals such as the Journal of Immunotherapy and Precision Oncology, BMC Cancer, American Journal of Case Reports, and the Annals of the American Thoracic Society. Her areas of interest include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, inflammatory myopathies, vasculitis, IgG4-related disease, spondyloarthropathies, and sarcoidosis.
