Overview

Endocrinology is the study of the endocrine glands, which secrete hormones that evoke a specific response in other cells of the body. Endocrine glands include the thyroid, which regulates metabolism; the parathyroid, which regulates calcium levels; the adrenal glands, which maintain salt levels, blood pressure, and fluid concentrations and control kidney functions; and the pituitary gland, which controls the activity of other endocrine glands including the thyroid, ovaries and the adrenal gland.

The endocrinology department at Physicians East treats a comprehensive range of diseases and disorders related to the endocrine system. Some of the most commonly treated include, Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, Pituitary disorders, Thyroid disorders, Low T and Hormone Replacement Therapy.
