Emergency Care or Urgent Care

The Physicians East Urgent Care Center enables us to provide patients with immediate care for items that cannot wait for an appointment with your primary care provider. These items include, but are not limited to the following:

In these cases, you may require the advice and prescriptions only available from a provider, but your situation may not require a visit to a hospital emergency room. This added convenience often means you won't have to wait until Monday to schedule an appointment for an antibiotic or to get an X-ray to determine whether sprained ankle is indeed a sprain.

Emergency Care

Emergency Care is intended to provide immediate care for serious or life-threatening medical issues. These can include, but are not limited to serious and prolonged illnesses or infections, large wounds or internal injuries, heart attacks, or strokes. While the Urgent Care Center is available so that you don't have to wait for your primary care provider, emergency care is intended for the times when you cannot wait at all.

Examples of emergencies include, but are not limited to the following

  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Severe breathing problems
  • Large wounds
  • Severe bleeding
  • Blunt eye injuries

It is also recommended that victims of physical or sexual assault be evaluated at the emergency room.

If you think that you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency or severe medical condition, please call 911 or go directly to the nearest hospital emergency room.
