Ultrasound

Ultrasounds are images obtained of a specific area of the body using a sonar imaging probe. These are fairly brief, safe and comfortable exams that allow sound impulses to reproduce images of the internal organs (such as the gallbladder, pancreas, liver, thyroid, ovaries, and uterus. We also offer vascular ultrasound and echocardiograms.

Vascular ultrasound provides pictures of the body's veins and arteries. Doppler ultrasound is a special ultrasound technique that evaluates blood as it flows through a blood vessel, including the body's major arteries and veins in the abdomen, arms, legs, and neck.

An echocardiogram is a test in which ultrasound is used to examine the heart. It can be used to evaluate all four chambers of the heart. An echo can also determine the strength of the heart, the condition of the heart valves, the lining of the heart, and the aorta.

Physicians East, PA provides ultrasound services in a number of our facilities including both Ob/Gyn offices: Greenville Women's Clinic or Greenville OB/GYN, and our Arlington Boulevard  office.
